When we began our work at a large hospital in northern Illinois, the hospital’s steam boiler water system was using an average of 10,000 gallons of softened makeup water per day. There was evidence of scale in the boiler, and the condensate samples showed high levels of soluble iron and copper along with unusually high levels of amines. |

Treatment Provides Extrusion Molder with Process Improvements, Reduced
Cost, and Equipment Downtime Elimination |
A Midwestern extrusion molding corporation built a new facility utilizing existing company asset molding machines. The machines were a minimum of 12-14 years old and had not been properly treated for corrosion control. Each machine’s closed loop cooling system included 30 cooling zones of which many failed causing a catastrophic failure in the rotary molding process. |

Does Once-Through Work for You? H-O-H Water
Treatment Can Make Your System Work! |
Strategically located along the banks of a Midwestern river, a cement manufacturing facility utilizes a surface water source for its cooling requirements. The river provides a plentiful source of cooling water for the plant’s journal bearings, air compressors, and various heat exchange systems common to cement manufacturing. However, like most surface water systems, the river is a vehicle for suspended debris, unstable minerals, sludge, and bio-films to enter critical plant heat exchange systems. The plant would often experience flow restrictions, inefficient cooling, plugged lines, and equipment damage. These failures were a chronic source of increased maintenance, reduced compressor life-cycle, increased pumping costs, and man-hours. |

Improved Biocide Performance? H-O-H Innovative Solutions leading to Better Control and Increased Safety |
A leading healthcare facility in the Midwest was looking for a biocide upgrade. This biocide would replace the biocides currently in place to treat their various water systems. The biocide needed to be very effective while being consistent with their commitment to a safe environment for the patients, visitors, and staff. They were seeking a way to control waterborne pathogens and improve the facility's infectious control posture, while complying with JCAHO standards. |
